Monument Peak (10, 452 ft) is the the Carbon County High Point, and for those working on the Utah County High Points (CoHPs), this one is the easiest since you can drive to the summit. It’s located along the Wasatch Plateau, and because its simply a drive, it should be combined with other CoHPs such as East Mountain and South Tent Mountain. There is nothing special about this peak except for the fact that you can see three CoHPs from the summit. The best time to drive here is in late Summer to Fall when the road is completely dry.
Directions
From Spanish Fork, UT head East on HWY 6, then turn south for US 89 for Fairview, UT. In Fairview, veer left for W 400 N on HWY 31. Drive 8.4 miles, and turn left at the brown sign for Electric Lake. Drive 10.6 miles and as you reach the saddle, look for the dirt road on your right. You will see a gate and the sign for FR018. Reset your odometer. Drive exactly 8 miles and look for the left turn. You can either park here and walk to the summit or continue driving if your car can make it. My Subaru Forester made it to the summit with no issues.
Here’s a driving map.

At 8 miles, turn left up the short but steep hill. You can either park here or continue driving to the peak. We were able to drive up to the peak in my Subaru Forester with no issues.
The communication tower on the summit.
Well that was too easy!
